In Young you will take a step back in time. Electricity didn’t arrive until 1965 and there was no cellular service until 2009. Even today, there are no fast food restaurants or well-known chain stores. Progress in Pleasant Valley moves very slowly.

Even though it is small it has some great dining options and fun. Grab a gourmet pizza, say hi to the lamas and get a glass of wine from Bruzzi Vineyards. Don’t forget the communities big annual event, the Pleasant Valley Days usually held the 3rd weekend of July.

Pleasant Valley which surrounds Young is best known for the Family feud that erupted into a full-fledged range war during the years from 1882-1887. The conflict involved two feuding families, the Grahams and Tewksburys. It turned out some say to be the bloodiest feud in America History.
The road to Young can be a little tricky because it is paved for only part of the way. When it is raining or snowing it is advised that you have a higher profile vehicle with 4-Wheel-Drive. The drive is worth the scenery in every season!

This is a real nice place to go swimming and sliding on a hot summer day, because that water is Cold! Upstream is a really nice waterfall that is somewhat treacherous to get to but worth the trip.
